Upayas

The entire system of Astrology is based upon the influence of planets in our life.
Challenges/ obstacles/delays can be attributed to difficult position and aspects of planets. It is believed in Vedic Astrology that each planet is ruled by a deity.

According to Hindu Mythology Chitragupt is God's Accountant who keeps a record of our Credits (good karma) and Debits (bad karma). Planets are positioned in the horoscope as per our past life record; a horoscope represents a trial balance of our previous birth. Planets, if well placed, result in rewards without or with minimum effort and if adversely placed, thwart plans and efforts prove fruitless.

So the remedy is to propitiate the planets. Various methods are available. All these methods or remedies are directed towards enhancing our Credits or Good Karma. While Good Karma may not yield immediate results, it neutralizes the Bad Karma of Past or Present Birth. Apart from the ruling deity of each planet, each planet has been assigned a day of the week, a colour, a number, a precious stone.

E.g. The ruling deity of Moon is Lord Shiv, the day assigned is Monday, the colour which if worn, supposed to attract good luck is white, the lucky number on Monday is 2 and the precious stone associated with the Moon is Pearl. Depending upon your lucky planet you can select your lucky day, your lucky number, your lucky colour for better results. Upayas or remedies strengthen the positive effect of a planet or reduce the effect of a malefic planet in our horoscope. Very good results have been reported when Upayas are followed/practised with faith and sincerity.
